Strengthening Partnerships for Agricultural Transformation

A joint team from the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) and the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat has held a productive working session with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to explore strategic collaboration opportunities aimed at developing agricultural economic enclaves across Ghana.

The engagement formed part of ongoing efforts to leverage private-sector investment and expertise to accelerate agribusiness development, enhance value chains, and improve productivity within key agricultural corridors. Discussions centered on structuring viable, bankable agribusiness models that can attract investment while ensuring inclusive and sustainable growth.

Key areas of focus included promoting private-sector-led agribusiness development, strengthening policy and institutional coordination, and deepening cooperation between the Government of Ghana and the Bretton Woods institutions. The dialogue also highlighted the importance of aligning public infrastructure investments with private capital to unlock the full economic potential of agricultural enclaves.

As the Government of Ghana’s Project Implementation Unit (PIU) for major development initiatives, MiDA reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with both public and private sector stakeholders to deliver transformational projects. These efforts are aimed at driving economic growth, creating jobs, enhancing food security, and reducing poverty across all districts of Ghana.

The meeting with IFC represents another critical step in building strong partnerships that will support Ghana’s agricultural transformation agenda and the broader objectives of the 24-Hour Economy, ensuring long-term, sustainable impact for farmers, agribusinesses, and local communities.
